I’ve tried to get a table at Trullo at short notice a few times, to no avail, which is always a good sign in a place with so much competition as Islington. The restaurant has a nice cosy bistro feel, with attentive, knowledgable service and the food is both original and perfectly executed. No surprise it’s been such a hit then.
We had a olive bruschetta to share to start, and my main of an oversized crepe parcel stuffed with sweet dolcelate cheese and pumpkin was tasty without being overpowering. The homemade icecream was a little disappointing – a little too bland and literraly like frozen cream, so next time I would try the lemon cake that the woman at the next table was waxing lyrical over.
The house white wine, served in a variety of carafe sizes, was really very good too. At £30/head great value considering the quality of the food and service.
